An illustration portrait of MIA a did a few years ago … A lot of folk requested to see this one again, so I thought I’d bring her back from the dead. Enjoy!

Dietmar Busse“Jamie” (2006)Gelatin silver print10 x 10 in.
“Dietmar Busse, a German-born photographer based in New York, has been around — he’s had a book, he’s had a show or two — but I think he’s reinvented himself over the past few years and is making black-and-white portraits of people in the downtown scene that are for once not bohemian clichés. I’m particularly interested in his double exposures — something I never thought I’d say about anyone — and he’s made some dog portraits that Peter Hujar would approve of. The work is soulful and smart.” (via ARTINFO)
